For the Artist In Residence / Route de Champagne 2019, the organisers proposed as group project the transformation of a cinderblock cabin located on the main artery of Ville-Sur-Arce. Limited to donated material and ’48 hours’ construction time involving 8 artistes. My proposition payed attention to a friendly and methodic construction system.
The concept is intended to blur the identity of the structure with its curtain – which exists for which? The horizontal pattern of the vineyards is displaced onto the vertical plane, as a curtain of tutors on nylon cord. Red tips were chosen to represent the labour and devotion of the winemaker’s Travaille.
